Humboldt County Jail Roster Overview
The official local inmate-search path is the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office CrimeGraphics portal at hcsonv.crimegraphics.com/2013/default.aspx. The sheriff's public page at humboldtcountynv.gov/518/Humboldt-County-Sheriffs-Office links to that portal. Sheriff Angel Cardenas is identified on the county sheriff page, and the Detention Division is the jail-specific branch that handles booking and visitation questions.
CrimeGraphics is broader than a simple jail list. Its tabs include Current Activity, Past Activity, Arrests, Warrants, Most Wanted, Missing Persons, Stolen Vehicles, Daily Log, Bulletins, Press Releases, and Incarcerated People. For current Humboldt County jail custody, use the Incarcerated People tab. For a recent arrest that may not yet be visible as a current custody record, the Arrests tab may provide arrest-event context, but it is not the same thing as a confirmed custody status.
The county roster does not cover every possible custody situation. Once a person is sentenced to the Nevada Department of Corrections or assigned to Humboldt Conservation Camp, use the NDOC Offender Search. Sentenced federal prisoners are searched through the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. Immigration detention is checked through ICE Online Detainee Locator System. For custody notifications, Nevada VINELink is available at vinelink.vineapps.com/state/NV.
The official sheriff page shows the CrimeGraphics entry point used for Humboldt County public law-enforcement data: source page.
That county link matters because it distinguishes the official sheriff-linked roster from third-party search pages that may not show current jail custody.
How to Use the Humboldt County Inmate Roster
Start with the sheriff-linked CrimeGraphics portal, then move to the jail phone line if the search does not produce a reliable result. The public interface is JavaScript-heavy, so use a normal browser with scripts enabled. A name is usually enough to begin, but a booking date, arresting agency, or arrest location can help separate people with similar names.
- Open the Humboldt County Sheriff CrimeGraphics portal at hcsonv.crimegraphics.com/2013/default.aspx.
- Select the Incarcerated People tab rather than Arrests, Warrants, Most Wanted, or Daily Log.
- Use the Show filter when available, choosing All, Last 3 Days, or Last 2 Days depending on the question.
- Enter the incarcerated person's name in the Incarcerated Person Name field, or use Show Alphabetically if that better fits the search.
- Review Booking #, Name, Booking Date, Arresting Agency, Arrest Location, and Status in the result grid.
- Click the incarcerated-person record for more details when a row is available.
- If the person is not listed, call the Humboldt County Detention Center at 775-623-6423. The county FAQ says booking information is available by phone or online through the sheriff's website.
The CrimeGraphics incarcerated-people grid displays the local roster fields used for current jail lookup: source interface.
When the grid shows no records, that means the public view had no matching visible row at that moment; it does not prove the person was never booked or that a record cannot be requested.
Humboldt County Roster Search Fields
The public roster field set is compact. The most important controls are the tab choice, the time-range filter, and the name field. The visible results are sortable roster columns rather than a full criminal-history record.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Show | Filter links / buttons | Unspecified | All, Last 3 Days, and Last 2 Days were visible in the captured interface. |
| Incarcerated Person Name | Text | Unspecified | Filters incarcerated-person records by name. |
| Show Alphabetically | Link / control | No | Displays records alphabetically when available. |
| Booking # | Result column | Not applicable | Local booking identifier for the custody event. |
| Name | Result column | Not applicable | Public name attached to the roster entry. |
| Booking Date | Result column | Not applicable | Date associated with jail intake. |
| Arresting Agency | Result column | Not applicable | Agency that made or submitted the arrest. |
| Arrest Location | Result column | Not applicable | Location connected to the arrest event. |
| Status | Result column | Not applicable | Custody or case-status value as published by the portal. |
What a Humboldt County Inmate Profile Shows
The static roster capture showed the first-level grid fields, plus an instruction to click the incarcerated-person record for more details. Related CrimeGraphics grids show charges, bail, person details, and photo columns, but the first-level Incarcerated People grid did not show every one of those fields. Read the roster as a custody and booking lead, then verify court charges or bond conditions with the jail and court.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking # | The jail booking identifier for one Humboldt County custody event. The official page did not document the exact format. |
| Name | The public name listed for the incarcerated person. |
| Booking Date | The date the person was booked into local custody. |
| Arresting Agency | The law-enforcement agency connected to the arrest, such as the Sheriff's Office, Winnemucca Police, Nevada Highway Patrol, or another agency when present. |
| Arrest Location | The location associated with the arrest event. |
| Status | A custody or status field; the research did not locate an official list of all possible values. |
| Charge(s) | Visible in Arrests and Warrants grids, but not on the first-level Incarcerated People grid captured during research. |
| BAIL | Visible in the Warrants grid when active warrant records include a bail amount. |
| Photo | Visible on Arrests, Warrants, Most Wanted, and related grids; not confirmed on the first-level Incarcerated People grid. |
| Housing / medical / classification | Not visible in the static public grid and should not be assumed public from the roster. |

Booking Process in Humboldt County
Humboldt County did not publish a detailed jail intake manual in the official sources reviewed, so the local booking path should be described from the confirmed access points and Nevada jail rules. A person arrested in the county is taken to the Humboldt County Detention Center or otherwise processed through the local jail system. The jail creates a booking record, and the public may search CrimeGraphics or call 775-623-6423 for booking information.
Typical intake includes transport by the arresting agency, jail acceptance, identity verification, search, property inventory, fingerprints and booking photo where required, medical and mental-health screening, classification, and housing assignment. Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 211 covers local jail standards, including classification and separation requirements. Union Township Justice Court then handles many first-appearance, misdemeanor, felony preliminary, warrant, bail, and probable-cause matters.
If a new booking does not appear online, do not assume the person is not in custody. The record may not have populated, the person may have been released, the name may be spelled differently, the case may involve protected information, or another agency may have custody. The county FAQ's fallback is direct: call the detention center.
Visitation, Calls, Mail, and Money
The official Humboldt County FAQ says visiting is scheduled based on the detained person's name and instructs visitors to call the Humboldt County Detention Center at 775-623-6423. It also warns that calls with detained people are monitored and recorded and that conversations may create evidence in the criminal case. No official county schedule, remote-video vendor, visit length, dress code, child rule, mail format, commissary vendor, or money-deposit vendor was located in the county sources reviewed.
| Facility | Scheduling | Published Schedule | ID / Dress / Child Rules | Official Fallback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Humboldt County Detention Center | Scheduled based on the detained person's name. | Not located in official county sources. | Not located in official county sources. | Call 775-623-6423 before visiting. |
| Humboldt Conservation Camp / NDOC | Use NDOC visiting approval and facility-specific directions. | HCC-specific schedule not captured in the static research. | Use NDOC prison visiting rules, not county jail rules. | Call HCC at 775-977-5972 or use NDOC visiting resources. |
For county jail mail, commissary, publications, and money deposits, call the jail before sending anything. The research did not locate an official Humboldt County vendor or deposit rule. For NDOC prisoners, NDOC identifies ViaPath Technologies for phone/account services and publishes separate offender banking warnings, including cautions about sending money to people not previously known to the sender.
County, State, Federal, and ICE Custody Compared
The most common search error is using the county roster for someone who has left county custody. CrimeGraphics covers local jail custody and local arrest/warrant records. NDOC covers sentenced Nevada prisoners. BOP covers sentenced federal prisoners. ICE ODLS covers immigration custody. VINELink is a notification and custody-status tool, not a replacement for the source agency's record.
| Custody Type | Who It Covers | Where to Look | Important Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| County jail | Recent local arrests, pretrial detainees, local warrants, short local sentences, and some court holds. | Humboldt County Sheriff CrimeGraphics or 775-623-6423. | Not a full court docket or statewide criminal-history record. |
| State prison / NDOC | Sentenced Nevada offenders, including people assigned to Humboldt Conservation Camp. | NDOC Offender Search. | NDOC warns its locator is raw data and not an official law-enforcement record. |
| Federal sentenced custody | Federal prisoners from 1982 to present. | BOP Inmate Locator. | No BOP prison was located in Humboldt County. |
| Federal pretrial custody | People held for federal court before sentencing. | U.S. Marshals Service District of Nevada or the holding facility. | They may be housed in contract facilities outside Humboldt County. |
| Immigration detention | People in ICE custody. | ICE ODLS. | ODLS is not a mugshot gallery and no ICE detention facility was located in Humboldt County. |
| Notifications | Custody status and release alerts where participating data exists. | Nevada VINELink. | Use it for alerts, then verify important details with the source agency. |
The NDOC locator is the correct next step after a state sentence or prison transfer: source locator.
Humboldt Conservation Camp is physically in Humboldt County, but it is still an NDOC facility, so its prisoners do not belong in the county jail roster workflow.
Full Access Channel Chain
Use the narrowest official channel first, then escalate only when the source does not answer the question. For a person likely in local custody, CrimeGraphics and the jail phone line are first. For records that are not displayed in the public grid, ask the Sheriff's Office for the specific booking record, arrest report, warrant return, or booking photo. Nevada Public Records Act requests rely on NRS 239.010, which starts from public access unless a law makes the record confidential, and NRS 239.0107, which requires an agency response such as producing the record, denying with a legal basis, saying no record exists, or giving a time when it will be available.
- Search CrimeGraphics Incarcerated People for current local custody.
- Check Arrests or Warrants when the question is about a recent arrest event or warrant entry rather than current custody.
- Call the Humboldt County Detention Center at 775-623-6423 for booking and visitation confirmation.
- Go in person only after calling, using 801 Fairgrounds Road, Winnemucca, NV 89445 for the jail, not the sheriff administrative address.
- For records not posted online, contact the Sheriff's Office at 50 W. Fifth Street or use the official records/online statement channel at humboldtcountynv.gov/529/Civil-Records-Division.
- Use NDOC, BOP, ICE, or VINELink when the person is outside ordinary county jail custody.
- Do not rely on a mobile app for inmate lookup. The research found a City of Winnemucca app and Humboldt County NV Connect, but neither was documented as a sheriff inmate roster app.
Verify before acting: Call the jail or the responsible court before visiting, sending money, posting bond, or relying on a roster entry for a legal deadline.
